Default FMIC and induction kits on a classic????

Thinking of getting one of the GT front mounts that are for sale on here but i understand that you have to fit a cone filter instead of the airbox. At the moment my car is fitted with the standard airbox with a k&n filter. Will i have to change this to a cone? I have heard that they can mess up the MAF sensor. Is there any other options? My car is a 98 uk 2000 turbo. thanks

The 98 maf sensor will ok with a decent cone filter such as the apexi or k&n, the 99-00 cars have the maf issues.
