Loss of boost
Was driving back from mcrae gathering on sun and noticed i only had just under a bar of boost. The car normally runs at 1.3 /1.4. Would this indicate a fualty boost solenoid? just replaced all the breather hoses with silicone ones as well. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Have you replaced the 'breather' hoses or "vacuum" hoses with silicon, a common problem is changing the turbo hosing and not re-fitting the restrictor from the stock hosing into the silicon (it goes in the hose from the compressor housing to the first T-piece), result is loss of boost!

yeah they were the same size 3mm and put the restrictor back in but will check that it is in the right place can any put a pic up of where they should be coming off the boost solenoid please

If your on the stock BCS, the restrictor goes in the piece of pipe that goes from the compressor housing oulet to the T-piece. (the other two legs from the T-piece go to the BCS (the leg of the T) and the wastegate actuator('straight on' across the top of the T from the inlet from the compressor)).
Worries me people tinkering with engines who don't know a breather from a vacuum/pressure signal pipe!

all the pipes were changed 1 at a time as to not confuse them! its just that the boost has dropped to just under a bar so for all i no it could be a problem with my boost gauge not reading correctly but was just asking for some advice

when i had my car mapped by jgm it had original 2port on,the pipes had been replaced by previous owner which they did not put restrictor back in which caused problems mapping the car,so jgm then fitted 3 port mapped car no problems,i think restrictor is built in on a 3 port if i'm wrong someone will put me right
