2.5 conversion question
just thinking ahead, wot do people do with the extra breather from the 2.5 when going into a classic? all my breathers are to air or tank,
do i tap it into another breather to tank?
block it?
or can i use it as a return?

From: 10.68 QT mile in 2007 2.33 Type R ** Current 2002 Spec C 2.33 Track prepped.
No need to follow suit As you say it's there for a reason and it will only aid crank case venting. By default 2.5 will generate more crank case compression than that of a 2lt.

When I first did mine I T'ed the two breathers and found my catch can filling up very quickly, with the center one blocked catch can stays empty.
The pipe is normally connected to the cam covers with the additional vent pipes, so any gas vented from it is passed round the engine and then out of the normal breathers.

in that case then wot im thinking is block the normal one off and use the extra one as breather as it has a more central location across the block!

Dont do that , the centre breather is directly above the crank and is very easy for oil to pass out of it. The main crank vent has a baffled plate on the rear of the block which helps stop this from happening.

As SSCJAY said - you get a lot of oil splash from the crank going up through the block breather - the originals on the EJ257 connect up to the cam covers, but most people blank the breather off.
