Rear lights are common problem, but I had water coming in where the boot seal was not sat correctly.

Theres loads of thrad on here already about this problem,

The rear lights are a weak point, particuly the sealant round the cluster. The cluster bolt in and also use a sealant like the stuff used to fit the windscreen.

With age it degrades and lets water in, check that first I say.

I changed the rear lights on my car, for STi ones. I didn't renew the sealant, thinking the old stuff would do. A month later I had 8 1/2 pints of water in the boot.

I removed the lights, resealed them. Touch wood, I've not had a problem since.

Other than that its the usual aerial and boot lid seal, that could be causing it.

yea was both rear lights, took out a gallon or so of water with a sponge.

took lights, off, sealthem with 'wet grab' instant adhesive

only thing the left lights got a bit wet, now only the indicator is working!

and the two other bulbs have turned quite rusty at the base. have left these blubs out for now. will they start working again if i leave them a few hours to dry, or am i looking at another solution?
