Default removing inlet mani - guide??

Hi
does anyone know if there's a guide on here to make life a bit easier when removing inlet manifold? Fancy having a go at painting it, and came across a good guide for that, but don't wanna mess anything up when taking it off a I hear that it's fairly easy to damage the seals when removing injectors?

If no guide - does anyone have any useful tips for me?

Cheers

Add a digital camera to your toolkit - I photographed everything as I took it apart - I was glad I did !

Also label everything - fuel lines, various little pipes and injector electrical leads.

I've done it a few times. Basically take off everything you can see and tag it with masking tape writing on it where it came from. Simple as that. It's a fairly straightforward job, just time-consuming.

good tips guys, thanks, I'll be sure to remember these!
What about damaging the seals? Anything I need to be particularly careful with when removing/refitting?

Probably best to use new gaskets if it's not been off before, but I don't bother now with mine, I just reuse them and they're fine.

Ok, so I guess it's probably REALLY obvious - but this is the one I want, right? Don't wanna be a total tool and buy the wrong thing and only find out when it's too late! The paint job will no doubt elevate me to 'total tool' status anycase...

Good time to put in some manifold insulator's while it's off,i did when i painted my inlet(see profile).Made a nice drop in temp of the manifold which can't be bad! You'll need 4 gaskets mind.

Yes that is the gasket you need. You will need two of them and like mit says above if you are going to fit the insulators then you will need 4. You might also want to buy a throttle body to inlet manifold gasket as these are normally prone to ripping when removing for the first time

cheers guys. Have ordered two inlet mani gaskets and 1 throttle body to inlet mani gasket. Not doing the insulator thing as it was going to add to expense. I have ZERO cash at the mo and really wanted a free(ish!) mod to do so this is it for now. Just got to hope the gaskets come before friday as that's my day off!!
