air con pump

Question air con pump

hi there

my air con pump was starting to wine badly and i didnt realy use it so... i cut the belt. problem solved!!

so now theres a big heavy pump weighing down my car that i dnt need, is it as simple as unbolting to remove or a bit of a nightmare????

any help would be much appreciated

Its fairly simple to remove. Be careful when you undo the coolant pipes as they are quite highly pressurised so when the first pipe you undo comes off it will go with bang. The refigerant is pretty minging stuff and will spray everywhere so be careful with that.
Everything else will just disconnect. If you're willing to part with the aircon rad i'm in the market for one

If you're anywhere near Doncaster I'll even do the job for you in exchange for the rad lol.

cheers mate but im in south london, sorry if i sound stupid but is an air con rad different from the normal rad or is it totaly seperate (the small fing that sits beside the front right light?????) and does it have a seperate colent piping to evrything else???

The Aircon rad sits in front of the water rad. if you have a look in your engine bay you'll see your radiator has two fans on it. In front of that is a seperate rad which is the aircon rad.

Doesn't the air con system have a bleed valve on one of the hoses?

yeah i got ya remember seeing it , live in a flat not so easy to go and have a look, thanks for the help mate, might take me a little while to get round 2 doin it but will pm you when i do, if you still looking for 1. (wont be to long)
