Default ej20 or ej25??

hi peeps,

i am about to under go a rebuild. i will be going for around 400-450bhp.
now i have the choice of either block to rebuild as i have one of each!

the supporting mods would be forged pistons and rods, md321t turbo, 740cc injectors, fmic.

has anybody got similar builds with bhp/lbs figures for either block.

looking for peoples views on what they have done and found better or worse.

thanks,
simon.

the ej257 will be ok roughly up to 450, 460bhp above that your pushing, 500bhp and your more than likley gonna split the block (couple of oflks on here have tried and its shat itself)

however the 257 will give great torque and be, with the right pistons, rods, addition required items, good at the 450 and be very reliable.

also if the 2.0 isnt closed deck then i wouldn't bother pushing it that far anyway

the ej20 would be the better of the two if your looking to achieve those bhp figures although it would have to be a closed block which has much stronger internals than an ej25 which would come as a semi closed block, not so good in higher boost applications!

How about selling both the block you have and getting a ej22t cdb?

Best of both worlds.

Forged, sleeved closed deck 2.5 FTW.

Just need a clutch and gearbox to cope with it all now

321T would be preferred on a 2.5, I have a H for my 2.0 !
