The canister can be ditched and its fairly easy to do.

just disconnect all the pipe work, remove the canister. Then go to the passenger side bulkhead and disconnect the smallest of the three fuel pipes. (this is the breather from the tank). Run a bit of vacuum hose underneath the car as a breather. I used one of the Non return valves from the cannister pipe work.

Job done. I just left the Purge control solenoid valve connected to the connector but no vacuum pipes going to it.

decatting can cause a strong smell of petrol as the exhaust is chucking unburnt fuel out the back rather than converting it via a cat

The purge control valves under the inlet manifold, follow the canister pipework and you'll find,if you have one, some don't,my 95 RA didn't.

hey sorry for the hijack but was also wondering about the pipework!!

I have no carbon canister on my scooby, its been removed by someone. there's just 2 metal connections at the front of the engine with no pipes on, is this ok? Does this mean i have to remove the smaller fuel pipe then? do i run this under the car?

thanks
