06 Hawkeye sti Fuel!!!!!!!!!
I am sure there are loads of posts concerning fuel consumption, but i am after some honest advice??
My car is a 56 plate 2.5 sti with no mods.
Firstly let me say i am ok with putting fuel in the car, i expected it to drink at a fair rate, the problem is other owners are telling me there must be something wrong with mine as i get through so much fuel?? So what should i be getting?
Today i filled the tank with 50 litres of shell v power and the trip showed 168 miles, i have never managed to get over 200 miles even when i had a go at driving so so carefully and my worst was down to 140ish.
I drive cross country 13 miles each way to work, i let the car warm up and just drive it, nothing silly with the odd burst of acceleration here and there.

Does seem a bit excessive snapster.
I've got an identical car, except with slight exhaust and filter mod and I expect to clear 200 miles out of a tank every time, even using it just for fun blasts out round these Kentish lanes.
Maybe worth a visit to the dealer to check it out...?

You're probably using quite a lot of fuel letting it warm up before driving. Why not start it and drive off immediately but gently (max 3000rpm/off boost), I think it better to get the engine do a little work to warm up. BTW even when the engine temp shows normal your oil will still be cool. Whether idling or driving mine takes 10 mins to get to 80deg.

Definately get it looked at. I usually get 230/240 miles to a full tank of 'V' and thats mainly around town stop/start driving. If i'm on a long run it gets nearer 280. The worst I got, blatting it about was about 190 ish, so I would say something is amiss somewhere, particularly as you are doing a 26 mile round trip each day. You should be getting 230/250 i would have thought.

Fantastic to hear you comments, looks like a trip to the dealer for them to check it over, it's under warenty so may as well.
When i said i let it warm up i ment i drive it straight off but i don't give it much throttle untill its warm.
I did a 56 mile trip last night and my normal 26 today and it's showing half a tank.
Thanks again to all it really helps to get some opinion as i have had so many people say different things, then you find there's is a 2 litre wrx, hence general confusion.
Once the car is checked over i would like to get up to the ppp spec, is it worth paying main dealer money or spend a little less with someone like Powerstation or Roger Clarks?
