Default The best mods to eradicate turbo lag????

I've got a Bugeye STI Prodrive and I want to buy some mods to eradicate turbo lag. I was thinking about a big wastegate but I've been told it shortens the life on the turbo and is really not worth the money, even though it sounds amazing.

Hi
I don't think you can totally eradicate turbo lag it's just part of the way turbos work there will always be lag of some description. What you can do is reduce it through decats headers remaps etc.
Or you could have anti lag but then your turbo won't last long LOL

A remap would be the best option

lightened fly wheel, lightened pullies are a good start, they allow a big more free reving.

if its not been mapped then a decat, wing mounted induction kits and a remap would also help

I don't find it that laggy to be honest, I have only had the car for 6 months and I think it is a beast (my previous car being a focus st170, 170bhp). My friend however has had a couple of shots and he says it is laggy compared with his evo (probably just jealousy).

I'd put it alongside the evo and play to show him how laggy it is lol....

My guess he's been watching too much top gear

If its a newer evo (not sure about the 7's) but i think the 8's and definately the 9's are twin scroll, far better way of putting the power down in most situations hence why the new age JDM's from 2003 are twin scroll turbo STI's

Do you mean the point at which the turbo spools up in the rev range, as this is boost threshold, not lag. Ported headers and a remap would improve things significantly. If yours is a PPP car, then the cats are already gone, apart from a sports cat in the DP which is a good idea to keep.

Evo's produce better bottom end grunt, due to engine design !

You need NO2 or a 2.5 bottom end fitting, to try to compete.

IMHO !
