Default big ends are on there way.. help

hi all, started car the other day and noticed a slight rattle for a split second on cold start up then fine but then started to listen out for things and now when you are driving and on light throttle at 3k revs it starts to make a big end noise through to 4k revs. ...if you plant foot down cant hear any thing its just as you bring the revs up..power is still as strong no doubt about that. the question is i may of caught it early and if so can you just take the sump off and renew the shells orcan you actualy get to them or is it an engin out job and empty wallet job..... advise please cheers

We looked into trying to replace the shells with just the sump off but its not happening Im afraid to say. Theres just no way !

Id definately recommend doing it sooner rather than later as it stands now you may not have done any damage to the crank and will be able to get away without doing a grind/new crank.

Whereabouts are you based as the guy who built mine will be able to do it a LOT cheaper than taking it to a garage ?
