Default Water/meth injection

Hi,
I'm thinking of fitting a water/meth injection system into my WRX, very probably an Aquamist/Perrin to allow safer running with advance ignition and boost. Has anyone gone thru this process and how did it benifit the cars performance characteristics out on the road?
thanks for any info
Regards
Trevor

Hi Trev

In short it added so much Torque / BHP that I broke 2 gearboxes in as many months !! Very expensive LOL

It also took a 370 BHP bugeye which was quite drivable into something which was quite scarey LOL

Good fun though

Be interested in it to tbh, whats the over all cost of setting this up and buying the bits? would probably go just water, or is it essential you have meth also?

also i have an 18g, im happy with it. will it also need to be upgraded?

Thanks Shaun, I'm on 340bhp so not so scary hopefully, I'm prepared to take the risk but thanks for the info.
The costs I've found are - Aquamist/Perrin sourced either thru ZEN or TSL £450+ VAT. Tank, min 5litres- (expensive if you buy new- jap-performance parts have STI I/C spray tanks for engine-bay or boot location at about £50).I'm using the engine bay tank which I put in when I upgraded the bonnet scoop.
The re-map, I'm told is more than a tweak and I've allowed £250 for that,(ZEN).
The labour is a big one (allow up to 6hours) so I'm going to use a chap near Northampton who's done work for me before, the kit does come with full instructions. It will be cheaper but I don't know by how much until it's finished, be about couple of weeks but can let u know if you wish.
I understand the performance is better with 50%meth and it acts as an antifreeze but you can get away with a lot less if you just want to stop the water freezing.
I have a VF34 and will be ok, so I am told.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Trevor

If your just after a quick performance hit why not map your car on methanol ?? similar advantages but you don't have to worry about a blocked jet. When my car had an aquamist system I used to empty my 3ltr tank within 100 miles, so if you have the car mapped for water injection it can get pretty serious if that tank emties and you boost the car

The car is mapped on 10% Methanol already- bit of a junkie-so goin to do both. I can cope with fill-ups but thanks for the input.

think maybe going for bigger turbo will see you get better results.

running 361/315 at moment and thinking of adding meth will get me to around 375 ish
