hi every one , i picked up my car yesterday from local garage due to burst water pipe. and the car was fine for the first 20minutes after it started to idle irraticly and it felt very hesitant, drove it for 15 miles on light throttle. tried to give it the beans but slowly and gradualy gave it 1 bar then waited abit put my foot down to1.3 and then a minute later i gave it full throttle and my injector duty read 92% baring in mind i i have 20G 2ltr lump sti4 with 740 injectors the most injector duty i had b4 was 70% and now every time i plant the throttle it goes up to high 80 or low 90 and i had cel flash.
2nd problem when i was 5 minutes from my house the heating satarted blowing cold air and the water temps went up to 100 so i parked the car switched it off and left the fan on waited 5minutes and i continued my journey home.
ealry on today driving my car to my mates house heating was fine the funny ideling started when the car warmed up. got there stayed for a few hours ready to leave turned the car on outside for about 10 minutes so it can be warm when i jump in there, the same problem came back it started blowing out cold air and the temps started climbing again to 100 so i turned it off and left it there.
has any one experienced anything like this b4???? is it just an air lock and a fauly maff???
lastly i have 3 toyo t1r tyres and t1s would that effect anything on the strip???

It sound like you have air in your coolant system. Start the engine from cold with the expansion tank cap off and the heater turned on HOT. Now make sure the expansion tank is filled up and slowly squeese the hoses to the rad and such. What you want to do is squeese the air out of the system. when some comes out you should see bubbles going into the expansion tank and the water in it going down. Be carefull not to put your hand anywhere doggy, like altinator and air con belts, or near the fans incase they come on.

Think he means headgasket.
If engine is overheating but the heater is blowing cold air then either you dont have enough coolant in the system or the water pump ism't pumping.
Chances are it's an air lock ( lack of coolant)
With the engine cold remove the coolant pressure cap and check it is full of coolant. Check the small header behind the headlight has the correct level in too. Give th bottom hose a couple of good squeezes to make sure.
Start the engine and hold about 2000 revs. Watch the coolant level drop. Fill it up whilst revving it. Put the cap back on. Warm in up and squeeze the bottom hose repeatedly ( mind the fans). Allow to cool and recheck the levels. Should be ok then.
Good Luck

Mus I thought everything was sorted out? I doubt the headgaskets will go that easily as if i remember correctly cometic triple layer gaskets were used when your engine was built more than likely something somewhere is letting air in to the coolant system and causing a airlock
