I assume that you are getting boost and it is being controlled to some degree. If this is the case then the bcs is getting its signal & working.
It is a 12v solenoid that is switched on & off by the ecu to operate the waste gate on the turbo.
You can test it by unplugging it and then applying an earth to the black wire & then it should click on and off if you quickly apply and remove 12v to the red wire.
If you are suffering from overboost (engine cut at peak boost) or surging under acceleration then the bcs could be sticking & need washing through with brake cleaner. NB if you have access to an air line, do not be tempted to blow through it with compressed air! you should shake out the excess and then leave it to dry naturally.
