Default Fitting an FMIC onto Bugeye WRX...

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a Front mounted intercooler for my bugeye WRX and was hoping you guys could answer a couple of Qs for me...

First, when i fit the intercooler, would i get much of a boost in performance as apposed to my standard top mount?

Would i need to get a remap to feel the difference? (im upgrading my turbo in a couple of months and was hoping to remap it then)

Lastly, is there any fitting guides you could point me to as i was hoping to do it myself. Is it pretty straight forward? I'm aware i maye have to cut abit away from my bumper.

Thanks guys

Wait and fit the FMIC at the same time as the turbo, imho, as it really isn't a good idea to run one without a map to suit, I very much doubt if you will see any performance increase until it's been mapped anyway.

What FMIC are you going for, I fitted a HYBRID one to my bug (with help) and it was a good fit, mine was originally supplied by HARVEY. You will also need to get a dump valve adaptor plate as they normally come with fitments for earlier DV's.

Quite a bit had to be chopped off the bumper and also there is a metal bar behind the bumper that will need modifying.

There seems to have been a price war recently with FMICs so now might be a good time to get one, assuming you haven't got one already.

What turbo are you going for?

I haven't decided yet which FMIC i'm going for, still looking around.

I will be getting the VF34 turbo. Would a FMIC be better than a TMIC?

Personally with a VF34 I would opt for a STI top mount, more than adequate for your needs, minimal lag and a piece of pi$$ to fit.

Can be had for about £200 and fitted in half an hour or so.

+1 At the power level you'll be at, the TMIC is the better option for the new age car. FMIC better option for classic.
