After chatting to my local guru
He recommended a 3" Milltek system, but as an "oldie" I want a quiet life, but don't mind some burble, but deffo don't want the "boom" on the motorway.
Trackday friendly would be essential.
So who has one, and how does it sound, and just how loud is it ?
TIA

The catted 3" Miltec is a tad noisier than the Prodrive system I had previously but I don't find it a problem on my 03 STi, and I bet I'm older than you! Motorway cruise sound level is no problem and the wife hasn't moaned about it! (She either finds it quite acceptable or has simply given up!)
The full system has a resonator in the downpipe and another in the catted centre section.
It's not cheap but seems good.

Dunx I have a full decat Miltek on mine a lot quiter than the likes of an afterburner and showed 95db at 6,000 rpm for trackdays but on full chatt on driveby is well over 100db as for motorway driving it isnt a problem and its also neighbour friendly

Hi, I have a full 3" decat Milltek and am really impressed with performance and sound
. It's definitely on the quieter side but still has the burble so is ideal for daily driver etc. Also keeps the neighbours happier

Hi i have the 3"decat system with 3 boxes. Nice and quiet when needed but a nice sound when pressing on, would recomend it.
Been told the decat is quieter than the catted system because of the extra box.
Only thing is that the tail pipe is a bit big for my liking
