was looking at getting one, but think more of a VF now,
Your VF34
VF34
The VF34 is nearly identical to the VF30, with the same exhaust housing and compressor. However the VF34 goes back to the ball bearing design, and in doing so achieves full boost approximately 500RPM sooner than the comparable VF30. The VF34 is the most recent IHI design and as such costs slightly more than its counterpart. Top end performance and maximum output are identical to the 30.
Mitsubishi TD04L-13T
(390cfm at 14.7psi, 200-275whp, Bolt-On)
This is the standard equipment turbocharger used on the USDM Subaru Impreza WRX. It can be found on all the current model years from 2002-2007.
Expect to achieve full boost with the proper mods and a quality tune between 2500-3000rpms.
Compressor Map
Blouch Upgrade
Deadbolt Upgrade
Forced Performance Upgrade (490cfm at 18.0psi)
The TD04 have the fastest spool up but dont handle the big bhp, and dont give you much at top end, but andy F hybrid TD04 give you best of both worlds, fast spool up and much more at top end, and it handles around 360bhp ish (only guess that the last bit)

i have had a vf34 fitted to mine last week and the difference over a standard tdo4 is like night and day, ive heard a lot of good things about the td04 hybrid regarding early spool up but the vf34 feels awesome on boost and holds 1.4 bar all the way through to redline

Not directly on topic, but I'm building my own Hybrid turbo using a TF035 (stock Forester turbo) with the TD04 13T front end off an Impreza and its dead easy, from my experience adding a larger compressor end from a TD05/larger TD04 would be dead easy and not very expensive, if you want to change the turbine end though it means machining out the housing to suite or some other modification, which is clearly a lot more effort/specialised!
