Hi all...Just had a "Buddy Club" 3" complete exhaust system fitted on my WRX STI along with some other bits and pieces.. The garage has done a super job and I`m very very happy with it all. It`s just the sound is a bit too loud and its making the car and my ears rattle. Its been suggested that a resonater be fitted in the middle section. Could anyone tell me what this is and will it make the exhaust not sooooo loud... cheers

 

Its like a silencer and will make it quieter but will depend how big the resonator is to how much quieter

 

Thanks for that. It sounds like it will do the job and I guess I can get away with a small one as I only want to turn the sound down a bit. Do you think I will need to get it re-mapped once its fitted or will the re-map that was done when the exhaust was fitted still be ok???

 

It will be fine mate without another re-map
