power steering relocation
ive seen a few kits for sale for relocating the power steering. Are there an ways to tell if the pump will fit my 93 wrx or are all classic pumps that same?

I actually had to replace my pump some months back, bought it on ebay, just gotta make sure that the fittings and other tube connectors are the right size if you're replacing it...
come to think of it, you just want to re-locate it...I don't know anything about that XD
As it is...out of curiosity, for what are you wanting to re-locate it for anyways?

whats up with the pump already on the car?
The reservoir sits on top, its the reservoir that clashes (if at all?).
Loads of people have switched phase 1 cars to front entry, the usual issue I thought was trying to get an inlet pipe to fit under the runner of the inlet manifold, which is sorted by fitting a set of manifold spacers from the likes of Carl Davey.

...You don't have to go under the inlet . To make life easier for yourself, you can simply jubilee clip a 90deg Samco to the front-entry's collar, therefore mimicking the OEM TD05's top-entry 'snorkel'. This would then attach to the OEM 90deg downturned intake with a short length of ally tube inside the two pipes, clamped by 2 jubilee clips....... I think! lol.

At least, by 'going under', you'll simplify the air's pathway from not having to endure those two torturous 90deg bends, eh?
Doh! I overlooked 'fitted'. Obviously, I wouldn't have posted my ramblings in post # 10 had I seen it, lol.

Unfortunately drew, it DOES look like you have to relocate the reservoir - see JGM Simon's response in post # 2, to the below thread...

If I were you I'd PM JGM to get the proper downlow on exactly what mods are required...

if you have to relocate the reservoir then you need an elbow for the top of the original pump, a new reservoir to relocate and the pipework inbetween.
You could also do with the right bracketry to hold the new reservoir in situ.
ALL available from any subaru dealer and from memory cost about £100.
You could do it with cobbled together parts as my mate did, reservoir from an astra, pipework etc from other cars, engine fire for free.
I run an early car, my95.
Never had to relocate on mine.

sadly not, car is in the tuning shop having work done.
I have a ph 1.5 manifold though and its spaced up on 10mm tuffnol carp spacers.
I'll sort some pics out when I get it back
