Question took out my panel filter for a clean, now the car sounds like darth vader!

i took my green cotton filter out of the airbox to give it a brush off and check it over as it's not been looked at for a while, but now there's a bit of induction noise going on

i asumed i hadn't put the box back together properly or the filter hadn't seated properly, but everything looks fine. even took the pipework off to make sure everything is where it should be.

sounds a bit like an atmospheric d/valve? only really make a whoosh backing off at 3-3.5k revs.

are there any pipes that i might have knocked off or anyone have any other ideas?

cheers,
Paul

i think you probably have pulled something off somewhere, keep looking, sounds like to much of a coinsidence for something like that to happen just after you touched it,look everywhere!!

Double check both locating tags on the upper part of the box have seated properly into the lower section.

thanks guys, i think i'll pull everything out to properly check. the clips look ok butty, but again i'll double check.

i seem to remember a small pipe fitting into the bottom of the induction pipe on my old classic, is there anything like that on a newage?

i ve got a green panel in my 05 wrx and it is a slight bit noisier than standard on the induction noise... maybe as the filter is cleaner now its also noisier and you have forgotten what it sounded like
