got coolant leakin on my 1993 wrx import , as soon as i top the coolant up it pisses out on the floor , looks like it might be behind the righthand side timing cover, either a water pump or thermostat housing? are they comen for leakin anywhere???

Right hand as in standing in front of the car looking rearward, or sat in the car looking through the windscreen? Based on your thermostat reference, I'm sure you mean the former, yes?

Most obvious culprit is the rad bottom hose. When cold does it feel hard and 'brittle' i.e. not pliable like a new one would? When they get old, they get like this and can split. My top hose developed a split about 5mm long.

Stand in front of where the grille meets the passenger headlight. Lean over and peer at the botttom RHS of the engine block, where you'll see the bottom hose coming out of the extreme bottom RHS of the rad and into the bottom of the block. The hose looks a bit like a "?" that has fallen over

Bottom hose from the rad connects to the stat housing which in turn bolts to the water pump with 2 x M6 bolts.
