Default What Would be the symptom's of a restrictive exhaust 2.5inch bore?

As above really Think I may Have a problem with this on my classic converted EJ257 . Currently running a magnex full system 2.5" bore and if i set boost to 1.5bar on AVC-R flat line on my 18g the car struggles to rev out at 7k revs and slightly hesitates but knock is minimal (below 15 on hand commander) . But at 1.1bar from 5.5k onwards it will get to it's 7k limit (Doesn't feel like it's a spark issue)

That seems more a characteristic of the 2.5 engine with a smallish turbo, than a restrictive exhaust. Has the car been mapped since you had the new engine fitted?

Yer I have But at the time i was using tesco 99 and it was making it misfire at the same rev's.Was done by a local mapper to myself on the road .But at the time we couldn't pin point the problem as nothing was flaging up . Changed to v-power just by chance and it was much better But hasn't been mapped since . Was gonna go for a Andy F 20g (looking for 400bhp approx) and get it remapped again but want to make sure that the exhaust is not the issue. Also have been told my cams maybe a problem as i'm running flowed pre96 Heads and the profile on them is quite mild??

Yes the cams are very mild on the heads and will possibly limit power at about 350bhp mark. If would be advisable to get some sti heads and the chambers opened up to match the 2.5 block.
