Pipe along bulkhead question?

Can someone tell me if this pipe can be changed to a silicone hose in stead of the metal one thats in place in the pic.

Thes the greeny coloured pipe that runs along the back of the balkhead on the newage.

You can change it with a couple of gotchas:
1. There is a one way valve in the rubber hose at the end of the metal pipe, this also needs to be present the replacement pipe.
2. This pipe is subject to a high vacuum so whatever you replace it with needs to be suitably reinforced.
