Default standard manifold and up pipe porting

can someone show me some pics of a manifold and uppipe they have ported so i can get an idea of how much to take out etc.

also in my uppipe there appears to be a sheath down the middle of it, what is this for and can it be removed anyway?

thanks
Jamie

cheers guys, so do you just grind away that internal sheath in the up pipe then or does it come out?

The internal sheath is the up-pipe itself. Just blend that into the flange of the pipe at the entrance. On the exit just tidy it up and make it smooth. The welds are the bits to tidy up.

I'm sure if you do the porting wrong it can make the performance worse ??? Your best off paying for them to be done professionally

Agree with steve, but there isn't much that can be done to the standard up-pipe anyway. As long as what I have said above is done to the OE pipe, and you dont go overboard by changing the diameter, then self porting is fine.

All you need to do is remove the step on the entrance and protruding welds at the other end.
