Default Noise from front wheel when reversing

Hey guys

I have a 'lumping' sound coming from the drivers side front wheel when reversing left only. The whole car also seems lo jerk and the front bumps up when its doing it. My first thought was the wheel was loose but its fine. Any ideas on what it could be?

Cheers

I get the same on my MY03 WRX. It's done it for years and is worse in cold weather. I mentioned it at a service many years ago at the Subaru dealer and they could not find anything - not sure how conclusive that is .

I have no other problems with steering/suspension and it's just passed another MOT .

I may have the wrong end of the stick here but the front pads can make quite a bang when reversing/braking as they are just moving around in the caliper slightly.

Ah the front diff has been making a bit of a noise for some time, could this cause the noise when reversing, it only seems to be the front drivers side

I had the same again this morning on reversing out of my drive and on full anti-clockwise lock. Feels like steering rack/power steering issue. Always worse when the weather is cold. I get no other problems so I'm not worried about it.
