how to tell if a coil is breaking down??
Ok seem to have sorted the boosting problem on my classic wrx but now seems to have a bit of a misfire,
on idle it only misses a beat now and again, hold the revs at about 1,500 and its rough as hell. Driving it seems fine but accelerating on boost it holds back and doesnt pull smoothly.
My question is, is there any way to tell which coil is breaking down or is it worth changing all 4 or could it be something else entirely.
Its got new plugs gapped to 0.5 mm from 0.7 and hasnt changed the way its behaving.
I've seen a set of coil packs on ebay for £60 so wondering if its worth buying them and seeing if it will run better.
