Question hesitant pull away

Hi guy's not long had the scooby 2001 bug eyed wagon all standard apart from back box and K&N air filter. Now dont know if this is normal but the car seems to be hesitant under hard accelaration in 2-5th gears, its like it wants to let lose and dosn't. its strange to explain its not as smooth as i would expect jerky even. it.s got a type-r boost gauge on it but that only goes upto 10 psi under full throtle but how accurate it is i dont know. hope u may be able to shed some light.

Can be many things.

Most likely poor spark, for this you would check your coils/leads for cracks. Any crack however minute could be causing it.
Could be the car seeing det and retarding timing if for example your A/F ratios are way off.
10psi is a little low for your car, I think you should be somewhere between 13 and 14psi.
