Default MD555 results

Have recently finished mapping my 2.35 with TD's MD555 turbo. Not many results are known for these turbos so thought you might be interested to see.

Mapping was initially by Bob but has now been finished off on dyno/road by Simon JGM this week. The overlay maps are straight V Power and 10% methanol. Spool is better on road, probably peaking around 3700 in 4th and less than 3500 in 5th and 6th. I'm really pleased with it as a daily road car, is very usable

Nice figures!

Will stick with my AET turbo though.

Heads are standard JDM STI (02). I think some exhaust porting might help the top end a bit though .

Turbo is in stock position obviously.

Yeah it looks like it drops a lot from 5k upwards even though it is still making the boost (although it looks like some of that is boost creep). Did the timing have to be dropped back a lot ?

Strong figures though

Not sure about timing, Simon might comment if he sees this thread...

Yes, the power curve drops a little less than expected before 6k but not sure why..... on the road it's not noticeable. It's still making 400bhp at 7300 so isn't too bad Maybe a ported shroud and exhaust porting would help also.

Nice result Jay, especially as this is the mid sized comp wheel and turbine wheel version.
We have a larger version ready to go on a new 2.5 engine we are currently building, will keep you informed of the results.
