newbie with first scooby needs advice
Hi all. after years of owning air cooled VW's I bought my first scooby at the weekend. I think I got a good deal, well I hope so.
its a 1996 WRX with AWD and turbo. Its on an auto box.
It appears to have been imported from Japan in 2007.
its pretty unmolested, no graphics or anything and is in very good condition inside and out and drives like a dream, engine sounds great, no knocks or unexpected noises. I have several questions about it though.
Is there any way I can tell if the Cam belt needs doing
would anyone know exactly what model it is?
i dont know what a few of the buttons do yet. I there anywhere I can download an owners manual from?
Its been fitted with a dump valve and ninja exhaust. Is there any easy way I can tell if there has been other tweaks performed? It really Shifts.
How much should I have paid for something this old that appears to be in excellent conditon? the clock is at 88,000
any help on the above would be fantastic. I love this car already!
thanks, matt.

Cam belt wise, other than a service history there is no surefire way of telling (even service history can hide the truth though) Best bet is if in any doubt change it, not hard a job to do for diy.
Best way of seeing if there are other mods is to use boost gauge to see what it is boosting at, this wont tell you what the mods are but if its boosting over standard then it gives a good indication.
Cost wise I would say 2.5k tops but more realistically around about the 2k mark. That would be sort of market value for a manual car so not to sure about the autos but there shouldnt be much in it.
Carry on enjoying the car
Dont know about the manual, sure someone will have info on that or maybe speak with one of the scooby specialists to see what everything does.
