Default wrx cooling fan?

recently got a wrx scoob. ive noticed the cooling fan coming on for a short burst every minute or so. is the normal? the coolant level is fine
the fan on my last non turbo scoob never did this ??

not sure about air con, have a see tomorrow. would that be normal?
also, slight promblem whilst in gridlock traffic, after ticking over for a while, the revs rise to 1500 for a few seconds then drops to normal again.
im think this may be linked in some way

The only reason i ask about the aircon, is it brings the fan on when it's on.

check the coolant quality. also the rad might also be due a flush out as it might not be performing as it should.

seems to be cos of the air con. cheers mit

think the fanblade much be catchin something to. a little noisy
