Default Turbo upgrade? some friendly help plz :)

im after a new Turbo to go on my car before JGM maps my car dec/jan

is this a good choice and what does this one look like on this link

Mitsubishi Evo Subaru Impreza TD05 Turbocharger Turbo on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 18-Nov-08 05:30:35 GMT)

i have a full 3" Decat system

the one in the link isn't for your car, there will be plenty of salvage yards that will have one for you. The STI 8 tmic is a great upgrade for this turbo

What make's you think it's difficult? Pretty easy and performs very well IMHO.

The TD05 in your first post is not a direct replacement for your TD04, the correct fitting TD05-16G can be found on pre 96 turbos.

the td05 16g in standard fit subaru form is a 90deg turbo so to fit a my00 car you will need a front entry version an alternative turbo direct fit with around the same power wise would be a vf35 or vf34!!!

cheers guys

im told that there are TD05 with the compressor cover to convert it but most places selling new or reconditioned td05 convert them to front entry first.

so hopefully should be able to pick one up.

im not sure if the intercooler job is hard, think ill get you to sort that out for me then zak

or even better FMIC

If going to Andy F, or other turbo suppliers, the turbo can come with 90 degree entry of front entry as you specify. Why not try a hybrid, TD05-18G or even 20g. Very good items.

The more supporting mods the better, FMIC or STi8 TMIC are good.
