JDM map
Hi , my car is still not maped when i got her from japan. As i know they use 100+ oct fuel, does it mean that i have to remap asap for uk fuel, or i can use 99 v power .. What are the options and can that cause any consequences?

A map will be the best option tbh, aslong as you,re not tracking it etc, giving death each drive then V-POWER will be fine, plus the map releases some more power anyway.
Maybe use an Octane Booster until you get it mapped also..

From: 1600cc's of twin scroll fun :)
The overboosting is caused by the decat, you need a boost controller or if there is a restrictor plug in the T piece pipe off the boost solenoid, you need to drill it out slightly.
But in standard form your car can run happily on 99 ron fuel, even 97, it wasnt until the v5 cars+ where they were mapped for 100 ron fuel, but that decat wont help you until you solve that overboosting issue

Ok , i've got manual boost controller, which i didn't fit yet, and i've tryed to take out the restrictor from T point hose. when i took it out the boost was ok about 0.8 bar , on the 4 gear it went to 1.1 bar. But is it ok, to leave it like that , cause i've just put it back , not to lose it, cause a car is parked at the moment. Or shall install the MBC ?
P.s. the car was overboosting before i've changed the downpipe...
Tnx for yur help Tony

Ok , so the restrictor is there , & it's still overboosting, maybe there is any particular place for it in that hose, Middle etc.? I've been quated 120 quid ruffly to sort the overboost by powerengineering , is it worth doing that , or MBC will sort it out?

Yes yes , i know JGM is the , but i can't afford to spend 600+ at the moment, and i know i need a piggy back or Apexi Power fc, as my ECU is old.
So i've got 2 options in my case. MBC or Powerengineering... Which 1??????

I had the same problems with my STi Version III - overboosting and hitting fuel cut everytime I hit the loud pedal.
I took the route Tony suggests, Blitz MBC set to 1.3bar (or thereabouts) - then got the car checked on PE's rolling road. I always ran Optimax (it was a few years ago) and added octane booster. PE told me this was overkill and Optomax alone would be OK. I never got anything other than green lights on my knocklink and enjoyed 40k fun and problem free miles until I part-exchanged a year or so later
So, I would go and see PE, get them to set up and check for you and you should be a happy man
