Hi all

My 98 classics sitting about 260bhp/ 260lbs on a sportscatted downpipe, decat centre an prodrive silencer, walboro fuel pump an aero motive regulator an a green panel filter.
Its got a dastek piggybank ecu and im thinking about a fmic what sort of gains could I look for. Its still on the original turbo.

The primary purpose of installing an FMIC is engine safety and efficiency, not power gains mate. That said, when mapped after a quality FMIC installation, cars usually take significantly more ignition advance. I gained about 15bhp and 30ft lbs IIRC. If you're on a TD04, I'd wait till you go for a bigger turbo before upgrading to the FMIC.

thanks mate

I kinda thought the turbo was the weak link as ive heard the stock top mount is good for about 300bhp just the price of a new turbo that scared me a little. just have to save a few more pennies i think.
What turbo would u recommend? Not sure whats on it just now its a 97/ 98 model if that helps.

TMIC will be good for about 290-300 but that wouldn't be sustained for long. Charge temps on my TMIC set up were getting to 60+ pretty quickly. On the FMIC repeated aggressive driving it was 14-20 above ambient.

To get the most out of the front mount you do need the bigger turbo, injectors or fuel pressure regulator with 440's and induction kit.

And then of course remap
