Default engine check light

Hi, can anyone help please?????

i have a 1997 sti version 3 import, im getting the engine check light flash up in high rev's and it feels like a fuel cut happens, ive noticed the boost does not boost to the settings when selected,ie, i select 1.2 bar and it may boost to 1.1 or less with the light flash. ive got an apexi ecu and dont no how to read the fault codes!!! anyone got any ideas what could be wrong and how to read the codes without the standard ecu??????

You cannot read fault codes the normal way with an Apexi ECU. If the check light is coming on at high revs its probably detecting det.

I would not drive it hard until diagnosed.

Yeah cheers, have been.
would det be noticed by the Knock amount? as in more det more Knock??
The car doesnt knock anymore than normal, 'max 16' running 1.3 boost.

Its only started since a track day were the hose between the turbo and boost control valve came off and boosted to 1.5 bar were the light flashed and fuel cut so i limped to the pits. the engine Knocked to about 65.
I repared the hose and car seemed fine till it did nearly exactly the same but the Knock stayed low and boost stayed normal as the hose never came off but thats what i thought till i looked.
would an incident like that damage the Map sensor or boost control valve???

Any help, info and advice will be great please.
Thanks everyone.
