How accurate is the inlet temp on the Select monitor
#1
I was looking at my inlet temperatures on my UK300 today with a Select monitor(thanks Scoobysport) and the readings i was getting were 16degrees with an ambient temperature of 10degrees.
I was wondering would these temperatures be very accurate through the ECU, if so, i thought these temperatures were pretty good

I put a thread in drivetrain about a K type thermocouple project. In the end though I think I am just going to go for the £30 Protherm thermistor and LED gauge option - see the thread for details. I probably like you want to know how long my intercooler would cope with 18+ PSI in hotter weather or on the track. I suspect not too long, but I need to see what boost I can safely run on the track.

Hi Scott, depending on what you are doing with the car then probably between 25-40 degrees rise above ambient.
I just use a Lascar temp meter, reads 2000 times/sec ... thin K thermocouple and a lashed up 5v regulator to run the internal lighting. easy to read with a 19mm lcd backlit display, probe tucked into the entry pipe to the throttle body so no butchering of intercoolers etc. Available from RS Components or Farnell.
