Dump Valves
Was looking to fit a dump valve to my scoob but don't know if I want the noise all the time so I was thinking of trying a cheap one to figure out if it actually makes a different to the cars performance. before I buy a bov or something for about £150
I have a 2000 turbo.
Advice about a dump valve would be appreciated.
Would the following fit directly on to my car?
*NEW* Subaru Impreza WRX/STI Dump Valve 01-06 (BOV) on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 10-Dec-08 20:20:23 GMT)

I've recently taken my dump valve off for the original recirc. It will make a difference in performance to your car.....for the worse. Myself and others have experienced jerkier gear changes, won't run as smooth and MAY use up more fuel. Only good thing they're for is the sound or if your running big power.

I havent been one of these people who have had bad running problems. Since fitting my HKS SSQV2 it has been totally fine, never stalled, idles as before fitting.
This was on a Impreza STI 05, I too was asking all questions and doing searches on here, and worrying about running probs etc, but bit the bullet and ordered one, so glade I did too.
Running problems could be down to not fitting the plug thats included properley, which would coarse a mix up in air preasure.
Having said that try some searches on here looking for your car model, as Im not 100% sure how models vary with dumps valves.

If you already have a recalculating dump valve bolted to the right hand side of your intercooler yes it should fit, if not it will not fit as these are designed to replace the OEM one.
As has been said no performance gain its just for the sound, I have had no problems with car since fitting mine a Forge one (2 years ago).

a cheapo baileys on mine last for 6 months runs fine no probs at all ran it for two years before without one cant tell any difference apart from the whoosh and dont really notice that anymore same as my exhausy ran stock for couple of years change it two a afterburner vortex dont make any difference just like the noise so if you want a dump get one dont worry about what any body else thinks its your car if you dont like change it back its only a 10 min job

I have a baileys evo but mine is a bit jerky when you trying hold the throttle steady thats the only real prob i have, the slightest movement makes the dam thing open and when your trying to be gentle it jerks like hell and makes the car a bit less stable whilst taking fast bends.
But when the cheapo one broke that was on it i plug the hole whilst waiting for my baileys and it never done it

Good choice. The only time they are needed is when mods increase boost to the point where the plastic diaphragm might split in the OE recirc DV, so unless you're nearing 400bhp then don't bother. The noise is pure ch@v [flame suit on and running ]
