Hello all,
I've recently purchased a 2000 Impreza Outback Sport. While I don't plan on any immediate engine improvements, I have to admit that I'm curious about them, and have been looking at what's available.

My searching has led me to some fundamental questions.

1) While I have found multiple turbo setups available for 2.0/2.2 ltr Subaru engines, I've had much more difficulty finding one for the 2.5 ltr engine. Can anyone point me to sites that offer them (preferably with an in depth description of their install, reviews etc. etc.)

2) What would be the effect of installing a turbo on overall engine life? (I've heard turbos reduce engine life, but have also heard they don't, so what's the story?)

 

http://www.i-club.com look in aftermarket forced induction forum. Apparently at 10 PSI they can safely go from 165 to 300BHP on the 2.5 with "bolt ons", but the experts in this are on your side of the Atlantic with the old 2.5RS Impreza no doubt.
