Default oil clearance

cant get oil clearance 2 crank correct, its approx 0.045

any ideas

So are you saying that the bearing clearance on the big ends or the mains is four and a half thou ? [ That is .0045 ] .045 is best part of a lot more

If they are 4 and a half thou then the crank is scrap. DO NOT even think about grinding it. Buy a new one.

yeh, but i had now probs with crank when i took it out, only done it for piston slap. is there slightly bigger bearings. what would make the crank become scrap.

ok, this time i done it right, with silicone spray, exact 2 instrustcion and i got

thrust - 0.030
2 0.025
3 0.040
4 0.040
5 0.035

all withing limit

3 and 5 have the recess io bearing giving a not a good reading. just on edges, but still in limit.

any1 clarrify, im sure im ready for rods now

If it had piston slap why have you taken the crank out ?
