Default Engine problems

Can anyone give me advice on what could have possibly happened
i was doing a speed run when i got to 150mph i started to blow blue smoke
now i was running at 1.2 bar
and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me the probability what it could be and is it going to be expensive
i am driving a S202
so any help would be appreciated
many thanks

Imprezas do not like top end runs, the intercooler becomes in efficient and det occurs. is the car mapped properly to go past 112mph
Sounds like you have some damage.

it has been road mapped to run to 180mph so i am lead to believe
according to the garage that did it now i am wondering if it has how much of a difference could that make and is that related with the STI Gnome/defi contol system

TBH, mapped or not, I'd be seriously wincing my head off if I held it at near top speeds, turbo blowing for all it's worth, etc. (especially if the TMIC is still on).

It would surely only be a matter of time before terminal det, or even possible oil pump failure, reared it's head?...

Lol, the defi control system only controls the gauges (gnome in your case) which only monitor the oil temp/pressure and boost..

What was the oil temp and pressure just before it went bang (you can still check it now by pressing 'peak' button on defi controller and looking at the gauges)..? Also, what was the outside temps there in Dubai..?

How did the engine sound afterwards..?

If it's still got the top mounted IC then the garage have fed you a load of BS.
Lol, might be worth giving them some grief to see what they say, but they'll no doubt fob you off and claim it was your fault..!

Either way it's going to need some major engine work/$$$ and I wouldn't be getting the same garage to do it..!
