I've got one too. ( Thanks to MartynJ) And it's with the RCM oil pump you mentioned.

has anyone got any real proof that these have safe gaurded they acr, as in fairness how few people have them fitted and have no problems just if they do work then it is money well spent but if not it is a waste of cash in my opinion

Oil surge is a well documented problem on track cars of all types, yet £150 could stop it from happening. No brainer if you ask me.

Yep. if you're gonna do track work, it seriously does makes sense to baffle the sump - you really want that oil near the pickup as much as possible. Augmented with a modified Zen, RCM or API oil pump is a wise move too - as well as a 10W-50 fully synth... Not worth risking potential £1000s for the sake of 'only' a few £100s IMHO. Is it?

I have one fitted in mine.

Before fitted it would breath oil excessively because cornering G would force oil to the heads.

After fitting, this was not the case.

I would therefore say it is a good purchase for £150.

It isnt a fully baffled sump though - there is a difference and if you are wanting the ultimate solution, a baffled sump is the way to go. For track day use they are a good safety net.

Is it possible to fit the sump without removing the engine?

Yes, but you need to lift the engine a couple of inches to make it possible.
