Type R VIN
Hi,
I recently bought an Impreza type R and brought it to Poland.
One of the Subaru autorised stations is to change it to LHD.
The problem I have is the 9 digits VIN on the car, I know that it is normal for JDM cars but untill I prove that it is possible for a car produced in 1999 I won`t be able to register it.
Could you please help me with some information on this matter and a link to a vin decoder that works on 9 digit VIN not only 17?
Thanks.

The 'proof' is in the 'Applied model' 7-digit code...
MY99 (Sep 98 - Aug 99)
- GC8F27D... WRX Type R
- GC8F2DD... WRX Type R STi Version V (inc. V-Limited)
MY00 (Sep 99 - Aug 00)
- GC8G27D... WRX Type R
- GC8G2DD... WRX Type R STi Version VI (inc. V-Limited)
Your 'proof' is the MY code letter: F or G.
You'll find this info embossed on the metal VIN plate on passenger side front strut top.
