Can any body help me please

I have just brought myself a 98 Type R, the car needs a new gearbox which I have just ordered, can anyone tell me if the engine light would come on if the oil in the gearbox got to low?? As Im losing alittle oil?

It only comes on now and again, if I top the oil up in the gearbox it seems to be fine. I have taken to car in to be looked at and have the fault code read off but the garage Im using is unable to find where to plug there machine in??

Can anyone help me with this.

theres 2 sets of plugs under the steering column just above the pedals hope your feeling flexible

there is a way of plugging them in and sequence to go through not sure what it is but im sure someone will be along soon to help you out
