i saw this on a car in the work car park at lunch. dont know whos car it is but its definately an aftermarket scoop, looks like an sti-8 scoop but not as big or high!
seems like its in the middle between standard classic and the sti-8 one.
anyone got one of these on their car? or know where i can get one from? what are these scoops called? and i take it they'll better for cooling the intercooler after 100mph
Cheers

You can get them from Scoobyworld.co.uk
I had one on my Classic, I didnt like it in the end and sold it..
They're called an STi 8 replica scoop.
And tbh, I dont think they make a great deal of difference, but maybe some!

i should have searched google first i found it. its called an sti-8 low level scoop
low level sti-8
![](http://1.2.3.9/bmi/www.htautos.co.uk/images/st/st_904.jpg)
and high level sti-8
![](http://1.2.3.11/bmi/www.htautos.co.uk/images/st/st_sti8bugeye.jpg)
i never liked the sti-8 scoops that much, but this seems a good cross between the two.

does anyone know how high the standard scoop is at hand without me going out to measure it?
as i have just seen these higher scoops which use the same classic design.
what do you think of these?
theyve got a 2" height and a 2.5" height
this is a pic of the 2.5"

would you need a different undertray for these or not?
theyve got other pics half way down the page

"STi 7 Bonnet Scoop - £120.00 Painted
STi 7 Intercooler Bonnet Scoop. Suitable for Classic Impreza models from 1997-2000 with later style bonnets. A direct swap over with the original scoop and fits using the same bonnet holes.
Original Bonnet Scoop height - 40mm / STi 7 Bonnet Scoop height - 65mm approx. Giving an area increase of over 30%, and some owners have reported a drop of intake temperature of 10-12 deg."

I agree with Banny. The STi 7 scoop on the facelifted Classic's bonnet (doesnt fit the v.1/2's flatter bonnet - damn!) looks perfect - it looks like it's made for it! I love the fact that its shallow and open.
I remember first seeing this mod on Andy F's MY99 Type R V-Limited on TOTB 3... At first I didn't realise it wasn't original! - that's how pukka it looks.
The STi 8 high and low level replicas are far too bulky and 'square' looking for the Classic's curvy lines IMHO. The STi 8 normal high replica is just that... far too high.
All in my opinion, of course.![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Eddy,
It's your wedding photos!!! WTF!!
If you have the STi 7 scoop on the car already why change it mate.
No need unless your upping the power. Your one will work fine.
If it helps I am running stil the STi intercooler and running my car fine. Will also be keeping the TMIC when I am going for 450bhp too. And not changing my scoop. lol
