Default Boost Pressure 97 STI

hey guys

just fitted my new vf23 turbo due to turbo failure on last unit. what boost pressure should my car be running as im reaching 1.3bar on boost gauge? all vaccum pipes are ok etc. and ive cleaned the boost control solenoid with intake cleaner and an airline at work... i know the weather is quite cold at the minute but i thought this was quite high?

cheers anth

1997>on STi saloons hold 16psi, so 1.1bar (assuming you have the correct OEM ECU in the footwell).

Double check all vac hoses. Is the wastegate connected up perfectly i.e. totally airtight connections, etc.

Might be that the new turbo, being nice and smooth internally (no carbon build-up at all, etc.) promotes slight overspool
