Default 05sti clutch/gearbox durability for 380bhp

Hey all, looking at going for an upgrade on my 05sti from the current 340bhp to 380bhp utilising the 321h turbo, 740s, remap, panel filter etc...however was wondering whether the gearbox/clutch is ok for such power. The guys at Pennine over in Hebden (they do all the work for me) say the 05sti gearbox (which was totally revised for this year car??) and clutch is good for 400bhp+

How many of you guys/gals are running such power through the standard sti box/clutch and how's the normal day to day driving been? Also what has the experience been moving up to such power, how has your driving changed or the way in which you put the power down and how has this affected the way the car responds/moves around on our british roads (west yorkhsire roads are ****te!!)

I'm currently running a few chasis/engine mods (view my scooby), would you guys suggest any other mods alongside what I have in order to balance out/cope with a bhp hike from 340 to 380.

Thanks all

The 05 gearbox is the same as the 04, if you want a slightly stronger one then the 02 STi is what your after, but the strongest 6 speeders are all on the Spec C's, its the fact that they use metal instead of plastic in some of the applications.
But the gears are all the same, they can take the punishment and are good for 450+lbs of torque (not bhp, torque is the killer)

Running 440 bhp and 385 lb/ft of torque through and 03 6 speed gearbox on my classic and not had a single issue. Not running a standard clutch but I cant see the standard clutch struggling with 380bhp. All work done at Pennine, you are in very good hands with Chy

02 STI with whiteline goodies, R888's on OZ alloys, PF brake up-grade... I can't say I've noticed a change in my driving to suit the power the car just goes, and stops, and corners, end of ! G'box seems o.k., up-rated clutch ready in-case !

Have run over 500 of each for about 18months on a 6sp box, doing road, track and standing starts. No problem.
