hi can anyone tell me after fitting new coolant temp sensor do i have to reset ecu ....

Every time i've changed a sensor i've reset the ecu as fitting a new sensor doesn't clear the error codes on the ecu.

ok cheers pal no error codes showing but im sure its at fault will reset ecu any way no big deal just thought id ask thanks

Where does the sensor go as you know myblackwrx trying to fix my starting problems, is it easy to fit and will i have to restart the ecu if so how do i do that? cheers

Resetting the ecu worked on mine after fitting the new sensor. Was like a bag of nails before.

On my old car (93wrx) it goes into the block by cylinder 3 (nearest the turbo) you have to remove some of the hoses to get to it about 20mins to do perhaps.
After 96 i thin they moved it but don't know sorry.
I always reset the ecu which can be done by the Select Monitor (subaru diagnostic tool) ,disconnecting the battery for an hour or manually by having a look on here Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / ECU

The coolant sensor can be found on the water pipe which is metal and runs from the left block to the right. This metal crossover pipe is directly under the inlet manifold....
