Adam, If you can get hold of a 6 speeder from a 2001 - 2005 UK car then it'll go straight in to a UK Classic with very little trouble.

You need to buy 'box, prop, gear shift linkage, all clutch operating mechanism in the bell housing. Try and buy it all from one car / one place as the 'extras' can be expensive to buy separately. Especially the 'stump shafts' that stick out of the front diff for the drive shafts to connect to.

Anywhere up to £2000 is a usual price these days.

A JDM box will cost a lot more to get into the car, as you will need to change the rear diff and so-on.

I don't have anything to offer at the moment or I would have done so.

Good Advice

Wish someone had told me about the stump shafts before i went to pick my box up, the guy had sold them with the drive shafts. From memory they were about £60 each

That's precisely what gets me going. People ask me for a price for a 6 speed conversion and you get all of it from us, enough to get it in the car, barring the odd nut and bolt. I get all the and and
smilies, when the price is quoted on a forum.

But people are not comparing like for like. They get just get a gearbox and nowt else. There can be a further £500 to spend to get it in the car if you are unlucky.

We don't sell the loose parts for someone to do their own conversion, because we keep them for our own use. If I sell the loose parts it means I then have less than a full set to do a conversion and I lose a fitting job as well.
