Default Replacement Turbo

My turbo is almost dead so i'm looking for a replacement on ebay. What i need to know is, can i replace it with any TD04L turbo or are there variations that won't work with my car which is a MY00 classic?

Thanks

if its for a my00 make sure its a front entry, early cars used side entry.

So, a td04 off an '03 WRX should be identical to mine?

No such thing as a TD04 for Impreza, they are ALL TD04L, those fitted to the 2.5's have larger wastegate apetures, but otherwise they are all the same except for external (and swappable) details.

If you are looking to replace like for like then I have the original TD04 off of my MY00 UK Wagon in a box in the loft. It has done 50k miles and was running a treat when it was removed at API (got the receipt to show) and replaced with something larger a couple of years back. Less risky than eBay at the bargain price of £40 +P&P (of your choice). I will need to check the mice haven't eaten it though.
Let me know if you want it.
