Default ENGINE CHECK LIGHT!! PLEASE HELP

I was driving earlier with no issues, i turned at a junction and noticed the check engine light had come on.I pulled over everything looked fine sounded fine. The only thing a bit weird is the rad fans are running but the engine is not warm enough to need them. I parked it up for a few hours, now the light is still on fans are still going from cold but it will only tick over. Its really lumpy on tick over then stalls as you touch the throttle. Any advice welcome!!

I would guess at coolant temp sensor

Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Scoobypedia / Scoobypedia under the 'ECU' heading shows you how to manually check error codes

The sensor ,if it is a fault, is about £28 and takes about 10-15 mins to fit.

The reason for your fans coming on is because the ecu is getting a dodgy signal from the temp sensor so the ecu doesn't know whether it's running a cold, warm or hot engine and is continuosly having to alter it fuel parameters etc therefore causing lumpy running.

When mine went i just had a lumpy running when cold
