Default lazy start.

today me n the wife went shopping.

After getting back into a warmish engine i started the car and it took about 6-7 times to turn compleatly over.

Norm take 2-3 tickles from the starter to start it. It was not slow so it aint the battery, it really sounded no different just took longer than normal. (almost like it was starved from fuel momenterly)

What we think? Any issue or just scooby being lazy!? lol

cheers

My MY03 WRX does that occasionally, usually after starting, switching off then switching on straight away (or a few mins later). Not all the time but like i said occasionally. I think old Kawasaki bikes used to do it, something to do with the fuel evaporating with the heat from a warm engine and taking time for the fuel to get back into the carbs again on restart. Not applicable to a Scooby engine but could be something to do with warm engine and all that??

I have it every now and again on my bug. My old cav use to do it with an induction kit on because it used to draw in cold air. Could also be the crank sensor on the way out.

TBH, mine has been doing since shortly after I bought it nearly 3 years ago. Until it fails and throws a fault code I'm not worried. Worst that can happen is it won't start - mechanical bits aren't going to start making contact.

I've seen them for sale though a supplier (Trader with a landline number etc) on ebay for a about £60.
